About the M word
The M Word is a foundational financial awareness course tailored for children as young as 7. My goal is to provide the next generation essential financial knowledge in a fun and printable format.
By exploring topics like different forms of money, saving, and understanding its value, the M Word gives a financial foundation while encouraging parents to engage in money conversations with their kids.
Having grown up without financial myself, I struggled with having any money conversations until I was 30 years old. I now believe in the importance of a basic understanding of money's value in children. With that, I am also hoping that people can make money, have enough to share it, and talk about money openly without any shame.

So let's start learning early...
In this 1-hour course, children will learn about the following:

-

About Me
My name is Hermina
Growing up, I didn’t know much about money. Living in a small, picturesque area of the Czech Republic, surrounded by beautiful fields and rivers, money seemed like a bit of a mystery. We always had just enough to get by, and when we had a little extra, it felt like a treat to enjoy some Chinese food from Tesco – those were the special moments :-) ! I thought saving was something only really smart people did, and investing? Well, that was just for bankers!
Everything changed when I met my partner, who came from a family that had a different understanding of finances. He opened my eyes to the world of investments, inflation, and pensions. He shared how his financial journey began when he was still in school. His parents gave him a choice: they could hand him a certain amount of cash or double that if he invested it. He wisely chose the investment route, and although the value dipped later on, that experience taught him so much about the ups and downs of the market. Since then, he’s been steadily growing his investments, and watching his wealth flourish feels a lot like nurturing a thriving tree!
For me, it took a bit longer to wrap my head around money matters. Thankfully, my partner guided me through this important knowledge, helping me to build my own understanding of finances. I’ve learned to save wisely, invest, and focus on buying things that appreciate over time instead of those that lose value.
I truly believe it's crucial to teach kids about money (the "M word") from an early age. Even if they only grasp the basics, it sets a solid foundation and nurtures a healthy attitude toward wealth.
That’s why I created “the M word” course. It’s a fun, simple introduction to money, designed to be engaging with bright colours and animations that keep kids entertained while they learn.
